The former Artoney General of the Federation, AGF, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, SAN, is dead. Abdullahi is one of Nigeria’s most senior lawyers.
A native of Okaba of Ankpa LGA of Kogi State, Ibrahim was called to the English Bar in 1963 and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar in 1964. He was later conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria as early as 1982.
Ibrahim served in different public offices including Mister of Transport under the military regime of Muhammadu Buhari in the early 80s. He was also Attorney General and Minister of Justice under the regimes of Sani Abacha and Abdulsalam Abubakar.
Ibrahim is commonly revered as the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria; of northern extraction.
His remains are expected to buried in his hometown of Okaba in Ankpa LGA according to Islamic rites.
