Commonwealth Society Of Nigeria Celebrates Day Amid Calls For Increase Investment In Education, Quiz Competition

The Secretary General of Commonwealth Society of Nigeria, Prince Musa Abubakar Abutu has called on relevant and well meaning stakeholders to invest in Education, saying, the problems facing Nigeria is attributable to the deep neglect of Quality Education.
Prince Abutu made this call during Commonwealth Society Day celebration in Abuja, Thursday. He said Commonwealth has contributed immensely in the areas of scholarships, peaceful co-exstence among member nations, Youth empowerment programmes, capacity building and others. 
He explained that the essence of Global Commonwealth Inter Tertiary Schools Debate as part of this year’s celebration, is to motivate the younger generations and nurtured talents. Expressing optimism on the possibility of young participants to receive scholarship and financial aid through the debate, Prince Abutu explained that five (5) schools will be representing Nigeria at global level. 
Five (5) Nigerians, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila were honoured as part of this year’s Commonwealth Society of Nigeria Day. Others who received awards are Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, representing Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala Constituency at the Green Chamber. 
While receiving the award, Hon Halims said, the award is an added impetus for him to do more for humanity. 
In a remark, the Chairman of the occasion and Chief Executive Officer of Eddinho Nigeria Limited, Chief Nnamdi Okafor called on all the relevant and well-meaning stakeholders to intervene to improve the quality of education in Nigeria. 
Chief Okafor said that Youths participation in national and international matters is important because, through it, their talents are nurtured.
