Respite finally came the way of the family of Mrs Salome Acheju Abu as Idah High Court on Tuesday, sentence the only accused, Ocholi Edicha to 12 years and six months in prison.
Mrs Abu, a women political leader in Ochadamu, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, was a victim of arson and was burnt to ashes, following the violence that ensued during the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Kogi State.
Mrs Abu was a grassroots politician, mobilizer and community leader of great repute, she was a Women Leader for the PDP since the early days of her political career.”
Abuh noted that the attack on his wife and destruction of their properties were premeditated on Saturday, 16 November, and carried out on Monday, 18 November 2019 by the thugs. He also alleged that the thugs who chanted political slogans, burnt his wife alive, including four houses with the fifth one made inhabitable, and three other PDP stakeholders in Ochadamu, had their houses looted and burnt down.
