Zamfara Community Faces Economic Hardship As Bandits Attack Fuel Tank

The bandits attack on fuel tank of Maslaha Oil of Sen. Saidu Dansadau along Gusau-Dansadau road has grounded economic activities in the area.
The bandits attacked the fuel tank and set it ablaze after collecting three 50 liter jerry cans of the fuel.
Speaking to journalists in Gusau, Zamfara state capital, Manager of the Maslaha Oil, Alhaji Ya’u Mohammed said the fuel was heading to Dansadau filling station with security escort  but the bandits opened fire on the tank.
According to him, the tank dropped the bandits forced the driver to fill their jerry cans after that, they torched the tank and kidnapped the driver to the den.
“The tank was in a convey of about 17 vehicle with police APC bullet proof vehicle in the front but bandits fires shoots at the fuel tank and other vehicles behind it”, he added.
He said the bandits attack on the tank and non availability of the petroleum product has been causing a serious hardship in the community.
” Let me tell you the people of Dansadau are now facing serious hardship due to non availability of petrol as not to talk of motor vehicles or motorcycle even grinding machines couldn’t operate”, he added.
The Manager therefore, appealed to the federal and state to look at the flight of the people in the community and address the security challenge in the area.
“It is so pathetic just eight kilo metres to Dansadau could not be secured by multiple soldiers and police operating in the area”,he lamented.
He regretted that, non supply of petroleum to the area could lead to serious economic hardship to the people in the area.
