A Civil Society Organization, Northern Youths Assembly has urged Zamfara state government to force security agents to face the bandits as the curfew and other security measures would not end the act of banditry.
The NYA chairman, Comrade Mannir Haidara who made the observation said the recent upsurge few after the adoption of the stringent security measures was a clear justification that, there was need for fire for fire with bandits.
“Look, despite of the measures, bandits abducted students in a broad day light, so what we now need is action of the security agents not just measures but action”, he said.
He further opined that, state government ought to come up with motivation measures to the security agents that would boost their morale.
” We understand that, security agents involve in the fight against have no commitment to fight against banditry, because of non payment of allowance”, added.
According to him, the state government should evolve measures to ensure that, allowances meant for the real fighters get to their hands.
The NYA chairman said the adoption of the stringent measures or curfew without matching order to the security agents to face the bandits would end the security challenge. ENDs
