An All Progressive Congress (APC) leader in Abia State, Barrister F. N. Nwosu has said that the state is overripe for a change, appealing to the people to work it out in the 2023 general election.
Nwosu spoke to The Summit at Mgboko Umuoria Civic Centre 2, in Obingwa local government area of the state after the conduct of the party’s local government congress in the area last Saturday.
He said with the manner members of the party turned up for the exercise, it is safe to assume that the people “are gearing up for the election proper to liberate themselves from their biting predicament.”
According to the legal practitioner, the congress was not only successful, hitch-free, and transparent, but was also conducted in line and under the supervision of the state Local Government Congresses Committee.
Nwosu, who contested for the governorshp ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC in 2015 and 2019 respectively, added that the people have had enough misrule since 1999 and needed a change.
Similarly, the Deputy State Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Grant Nwogu said he is optimistic that the party will take over the state in the election, appealing to the people to throw more weight behind the party.
