Rotary Club of Abuja Kubwa Gateway, District 9125 has donated a motorised borehole to Paze community in Bwari area council of the Federal Capital Territory at the weekend.
The District Governor, Rotarian Ayo Oyedokun while commissioning the borehole noted that the Rotary club aims to complement government efforts to provide basic amenities as they can not do it alone. He explained that the importance of water and the need to impact on lives of the over 300 residents in the community is commendable not just for the community but for Bwari area council.
The president of the club, Rotarian Chimezie Ojiabo, while speaking at the launching described the project as an impactful one, even as he noted that a need assessment was carried out to ascertain what area of intervention Rotrary could provide and the community was lacking in potable water. He noted that there were other areas they hope to bring interventions as a humanitarian organization to ensure that communities around Dutse/Kubwa area feel the impact of the club through execution of impactful projects.
On his part the chief of Paze community, Chief Saidu Ibrahim Paze while expressing his gratitude to the club stressed that their most pressing need in the community has been met and the community is gratitude to the club for their kind gesture.
