Barring any last minute development in the politics of taraba state the trio of Col Dantala Agbu kefas, Serving chairman of the people’s Democratic Party in the state, Hon Danladi Baido, a serving member of the federal House of Representatives and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, Currently representing taraba south senatorial district in the National Assembly are set to hit the ground running selling there programs and policies to the electorates on why they should be elected to be at the driver’s seat on the nature’s gift to the nation.
Unlike in previous elections religion won’t be an issue as for the first time since 1999 there is no Muslim on the list of the top gubernatorial contenders at least for now, but zoning will play a critical role as the duo of Both senator Bwacha and colonel Kefas hail from the same southern senatorial district like the outgoing Governor ishaku.
Baido on his part is flying the flag of the northern senatorial district a zone which on it part feels it has a right of first refusal to have a shot once again at the state’s top job after jolly nyame’s eight years reign but there are arguments that Both former acting governors Sani Danladi and Garba Umar violated the gentleman’s agreement when they sought to at one point or the other run for the governorship of the state.
In the days ahead we will be looking at there antecedents, Strengths, political sagacity and grassroots connects with the people of the state in an election that is bound to evoke past memories of the key political actors in the state and why they should be trusted this time around.
