Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Africa is “a hostage” of Russia’s war.

Speaking to the African Union, President Zelensky called Africa a “hostage” of Russia’s war, stating that Africa suffers as much from “hunger” due to the invasion.

According to information gathered by EYEGAMBIA, invitations were sent to all 55 African leaders ahead of the Virtual address which was held on Monday.

However, only four (4) African leaders attended with the remaining 51 sending representatives.

The attendance list further deepens Africa’s position on the ongoing conflict. Earlier campaigns by the United Nations to rally support against Russia saw massive withdrawal by African countries.

Some stated that they prefer to remain neutral than be forced to take sides. What do you make of the development?
