The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has commenced consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, assuring constituents of increased development projects and improved welfare if returned to office.
Jarigbe made this known during a stakeholders’ meeting in Obanliku on Thursday as part of his outreach across the Northern Senatorial District. He explained that the visit was to formally declare his intention to seek another term and to solicit support and prayers ahead of the party primaries.
The engagement brought together members of the Obanliku Traditional Rulers Council and leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the area.
Speaking at the meeting, the lawmaker said the consultation was aimed at strengthening his relationship with constituents and reaffirming his commitment to effective representation.
“I have come to formally inform you of my intention to seek re-election and to request your continued support and cooperation as political activities gather momentum,” he said.
He reiterated his commitment to attracting more development to the district and enhancing the welfare of the people.
“I remain dedicated to delivering more projects and improving the well-being of my constituents if given another mandate. Since the last election, we have maintained steady engagement with the people and will continue to do so,” he added.
In their remarks, the Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, the Paramount Ruler and the APC chapter chairman commended the senator for facilitating key infrastructural projects and advancing human capital development within a short period.
They also applauded his consistent interaction with constituents and pledged their continued support for his leadership.
Dignitaries present included the local government chairman, Hon. Chris Agbe, Chief Timmy Tom, Rt. Hon. Peter Igbodor, Hon. Gabriel Edi, Chief Igbe Aruku, Chief Wabily Nyiam, Dr Dornclaimz Enamhe, Barr. Mike Upan Aniah, Hon. Paddy Uguge and Hon. Martins Orim.
Others were Chief Austin Edibe, Rt. Hon. Regina Anyogo, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi, Hon. Thomas Agi, Hon. Pius Ashakia, Princess Otanya and Hon. Gabriel Bravoo Oluohu.
