3 Israelis, 369 Palestinians Regain Freedom in Hostage Swap Under Ceasefire Agreement
In the sixth prisoner exchange since the ceasefire agreement began last month, Hamas has released three Israeli hostages in exchange for the release of 369 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
The Israeli hostages, identified as American-Israeli Sagui Dekel-Chen, 36, Argentinian-Israeli Yair Horn, 46, and Russian-Israeli Alexander Troufanov, 29, were handed over in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. They were airlifted to a hospital in central Israel, where they will undergo medical tests and be reunited with their relatives.
This latest swap brings the total number of hostages freed to 141, including 81 Israelis and 24 foreign nationals. However, 70 hostages taken during the October 7 attacks are still believed to be in Gaza.
The ceasefire agreement, brokered by the US, aims to release 33 hostages and 1,900 Palestinian prisoners in exchange. The deal has been welcomed by many, but concerns remain about the fate of those still held captive.
