Former Senate President David Mark has assured members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that recent internal developments pose no threat to the party’s stability.
Mark, who serves as the party’s National Chairman, gave the assurance on Wednesday in Abuja during a message to mark his 78th birthday.
He acknowledged that challenges are inevitable in the evolution of political institutions, stressing that unity, resilience and shared commitment remain essential in overcoming such difficulties.
“I wish to assure our members and Nigerians at large that there is no cause for alarm—challenges are a natural part of any growing institution,” he said. “What is important is our collective resolve to overcome them.”
He added that the party remains united and focused on strengthening its structure while upholding democratic values.
Mark reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to democracy, pledging continued efforts to reinforce institutions in order to ensure governance delivers meaningful development for Nigerians.
He emphasised that discipline, integrity and patriotism would guide the party’s actions as it works to safeguard democratic structures and promote national progress.
Reflecting on his milestone age, Mark said his determination to serve the nation remains unwavering.
“At 78, my resolve remains unshaken. I am inspired more than ever to contribute my quota to national unity, peace and progress,” he added.
He also expressed gratitude to God for his life and guidance, while appreciating the steadfast support of his family, friends and associates throughout his public service.
