Governor Otu Gets ‘Igala’ Chieftaincy Title “Achema Ejeh” Ankpa

The Cross River State governor, Prince Bassey Otu, is to be conferred with the chieftaincy of “Achema Ejeh” Ankpa.

The Ejeh Ankpa and Chairman Ankpa Traditional Council, His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu II, has announced the conferment of chieftaincy titles on deserving individuals, including the Cross River State governor, Prince Bassey Otu, who will be conferred with the title of “Achema Ejeh Ankpa.”

The announcement was made in a press release issued on 2nd January, 2023, to celebrate the Ejeh Ankpa’s two years on the throne and the successful coronation and presentation of the staff of office on 7th October, 2023.

The chieftaincy titles and council appointments are in recognition of the unwavering commitment and outstanding contributions made by the recipients to the development and prosperity of Ankpa.

The Ejeh Ankpa acknowledged the dedication and service of the recipients, both as sons and daughters of Ankpa and as friends who have played a pivotal role in the growth of the community.

Governor Otu’s conferment with the title of “Achema Ejeh Ankpa” is a testament to his contributions to the development of not only Cross River State but also the Ankpa community.

The conferment of the chieftaincy titles and council appointments is a significant event for the Ankpa community, and it is sure to be a cause for celebration.

The event is also an opportunity to reflect on the important role that traditional institutions play in Nigerian society.
