Onyejeocha Distributes Food Items To Widows, Others To Celebrate Easter, Tinubu’s Birthday

In the spirit of Easter and in line with President Tinubu’s wish, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, on Friday distributed food items to widows and those in need in her home state of Abia.

Minister, who received hundreds of widows, individuals with disabilities and those in underprivileged situations at her residence in Isuochi, Abia State, described the event as one that held particular significance because the President’s birthday fell on the same day with Good Friday.

A statement by her media adviser, Emameh Gabriel, recalled that the President recently advised his associates and well-wishers that intended to celebrate with him on his birthday to channel their donation to charity and wished to use the day to reflect and re-dedicate himself to the task of building a more stable, more secure, virile, prosperous and united Nigeria.

Emameh acknowledged the minister’s compliance with the president’s directive to extend charitable assistance to those facing hardship in the country.

The statement noted that, while speaking during her monthly foundation prayer session, the minister called on her supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to pray for the president for a prosperous Nigeria and continue to support him to move the country forward.

Onyejeocha had earlier on her verified X handle in her birthday wishes and prayers to the president and country, described Tinubu as a pro democracy hero who had sacrificed a better part of his life in the service of the country and democracy.

She further commended Tinubu’s lifelong commitment to making Nigeria a better place, highlighting his service as a Senator, his fight for democracy, and his achievements as President.

She Xed: “You have sacrificed the better part of your life in the service of Nigeria. You contributed to the enthronement of democracy and good governance, serving first as a Senator in the aborted Third Republic and later as a pro-democracy activist, working tirelessly as a member of the National Democratic Coalition to struggle over the de-annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.

“As the President of the greatest country in Africa, you have made positive impacts in the country through your Renewed Hope initiatives,” Onyejeocha said.
