ALGON Hails President Tinubu’s One-Year In Office, Lauds Commitment to Local Government Development

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his one-year in office, praising his administration’s friendly disposition towards local government development.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with Mr. President, who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to empowering local governments and enhancing grassroots development,” said Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, ALGON National President. “His leadership has been a game-changer for our communities, and we are eager to see the continued impact of his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.”

In a statement, Maifata commended the President’s efforts to address constitutional challenges affecting local government administration in Nigeria, stating, “We believe that the President’s commitment to resolving these challenges will have a profound impact on the lives of Nigerians and the development of our nation as a whole.”

ALGON also expressed gratitude for the gains they have experienced under the President’s leadership, noting that his support for local government development dates back to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State. “The President’s understanding of the importance of local government in driving national progress is unparalleled, and we are grateful for his unwavering support,” said Maifata.

The association pledged their maximum support to the President’s administration, expressing hope that the remaining challenges will be resolved under his leadership. “We stand ready to work with the President and his team to ensure that local governments continue to thrive and play their critical role in building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria,” Maifata emphasised.

This endorsement from ALGON, a key stakeholder in local government administration, is seen as a significant boost to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen grassroots development and democratic governance in Nigeria.

As the country continues to navigate the complexities of national development, the partnership between the federal government and local governments is crucial, and ALGON’s support is a testament to the President’s commitment to collaboration and progress.
