Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has pledged to adhere to the new national minimum wage agreed upon by the federal government and labour unions. In an interview with the Government House Press Crew in Jalingo, Governor Kefas assured that his administration will implement the new wage once an agreement is reached.
“We are waiting for the federal government and labour unions to agree on a figure, and we will pay whatever amount is agreed upon as the new national minimum wage,” Governor Kefas said. “The welfare of our workers remains my top priority, and we will do everything possible to ensure their well-being.”
When asked about the formation of state police, Governor Kefas clarified that he is not against the initiative, which aims to protect the lives and properties of citizens. “I am not against the formation of state police as it is a necessary step towards ensuring the security of our people,” he explained.
With this commitment, Taraba State workers can expect a new minimum wage once the federal government and labour unions reach an agreement. Governor Kefas’ administration has reiterated its dedication to the welfare of workers and the security of the state.
