CSDA Trains Community Leaders on Micro Projects in Taraba

By Emmanuel Awari-Jalingo

The Taraba State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) has trained community leaders and representatives on the execution of micro projects in 62 communities across the state.

The training, held at the Conference Hall of Pastoral Centre in Jalingo, aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage micro projects in their respective communities.

“The training is an extension of the flagged-up ceremony held in the Wukari local government area to keep the participants informed of the roles in the execution of the micro-projects by the CSDA,” said Sakunga Galumje, General Manager of CSDA. “We are fully prepared to execute micro projects across the state, focusing on areas such as construction, rehabilitation of schools and health centers, drilling of boreholes, and addressing erosion control in the society.”

Dr. Bitrus Ishaku Manang, a representative of the Manang Community of Yorro local government area, expressed gratitude for the training and highlighted the community’s need for potable water and health facilities. “We commended the organisers of the training, and we will put into use the knowledge acquired for the benefit of our community,” he said.

Louis Moses Tani, a representative of the Zing Community, also appreciated the training, stating, “The training was impactful, and the resource persons enlightened us about the roles we are to play during the execution of the mini projects by the CSDA in our communities.”

The General Manager urged community leaders to take ownership of the projects, emphasizing that the agency’s doors are open to entertain complaints and address urgent needs in society. He also appreciated Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his intervention, which has led to the revival of the CSDA.
