The Taraba State Government has partnered with the World Bank to launch a project executing 171 microprojects in the Southern Zone of the state.
The projects, part of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme (NG-CARES), aim to improve living conditions in rural communities.
“We are committed to bringing government policies and programmes closer to the grassroots through micro projects,” said Governor Agbu Kefas, represented by Commissioner Peter George. “We urge the communities to protect and make judicious use of the projects when completed.”

Sakunga Galumje, General Manager of the Taraba State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), expressed confidence in the agency’s ability to deliver successful development interventions in rural areas.
“We have a record of success stories, and we expect more from this launched project,” he said. “More community development projects are expected to be launched under the NG-CARES programme in northern and central Taraba State.”
The project launch and disbursement of funds to 62 communities mark a significant step towards improving access to water, health, education, and environmental services in rural Taraba State.
