Anambra South Senator, Ifeanyi Ubah Dies
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South senatorial district, has passed away in London. The Nigeria Senate confirmed his death in a statement, describing him as an “esteemed colleague” and a “committed public servant.”
Yemi Adaramodu, chairman of the senate committee on public affairs, stated, “Senator Uba’s untimely departure represents a significant loss to the Senate, his community, and the nation at large.”
Ubah was a prominent businessman and philanthropist before entering public service. He founded Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited and the Ifeanyi Uba Foundation, which provided support to the less privileged.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio described Ubah as a “dedicated and passionate legislator” whose contributions have left a mark on the nation.
Ubah survived an attack on his convoy in Anambra in September 2022. He was re-elected to the 10th senate on the platform of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) and later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in October 2023.
