Abia Governor Pays Tribute to Late Onyeka Onwenu

In a heartfelt tribute posted on his verified Facebook page, Abia State Governor, Sir Alex Otti, joined millions of Nigerians in mourning the passing of legendary singer, actress, and humanitarian, Onyeka Onwenu.

He described her demise as a “monumental loss” to the state and nation, Governor Otti celebrated Onyeka Onwenu’s remarkable career, which spanned decades and inspired generations with her soulful voice, captivating stage presence, and unforgettable performances.

The Governor extolled Onyeka Onwenu as a “shining example of excellence, dedication, and passion” and praised her contributions to Nigerian music and culture.

He highlighted her iconic status as a proud daughter of Abia State, who brought joy and pride to the people of the state and the entire nation through her remarkable talent.

Governor Otti’s tribute read in part: “With a heavy heart, I join millions of Nigerians to mourn the passing of a true legend, Onyeka Onwenu. Her demise is a monumental loss to our state, Abia, and the entire nation. Onyeka Onwenu was an iconic singer, actress, and humanitarian who left an indelible mark on our entertainment industry.”

On behalf of the government and people of Abia State, Governor Otti extended his deepest condolences to Onyeka Onwenu’s family, friends, and fans, saying: “May her legacy continue to inspire us, and may her soul rest in perfect peace.”
