Taraba Prepares to Host PDP Governor’s Forum, Setup 64-Man Committee

By Emmanuel Awari-Jalingo

The Taraba State Government has taken a significant step towards hosting a successful PDP Governor’s Forum in the state by constituting a 64-man committee.

The committee, which was announced in a statement signed by Secretary to the Government of the State, Barr Gebon Timothy Kataps, is tasked with making arrangements for a hitch-free event.

“The committee is composed of experienced individuals who have a track record of delivering successful events,” said Barr Kataps. “We are confident that with their expertise, we will deliver a forum that meets the expectations of our guests.”

Deputy Governor Alh Aminu Abdullahi Alkali will chair the main committee, while Barr Gebon Timothy Kataps will serve as secretary. Other members include Senator Haruna Manu, Mohamed Lauya, and Commissioners, among others.

The forum is scheduled to hold from August 22nd to 24th, 2024, and will bring together governors from across the country to discuss issues of national importance. Sub-committees have been established for Security, Media, Transportation, and Accommodations, with top government officials heading each unit.

“We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of this forum,” said Deputy Governor Alkali. “We want to showcase the beauty of Taraba State and provide a conducive environment for our guests to discuss the issues that matter most.”

In a related development, Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has approved a two-day retreat for top government officials. The retreat, themed “Taraba State: The Way Forward in a Globalizing World,” will hold from August 19th to 20th, 2024, at C2C Event Center, Jalingo.

According to Taraba State Head of Civil Service, Tino Paul Maigida, “The retreat aims to chart a course for Taraba State’s progress in a globalizing world. We expect all concerned officials to attend unfailingly.”

The retreat will bring together the Secretary to the Government of the State, Commissioners, Members of the State House of Assembly, Chief Judge, Permanent Secretaries, and other top government officials to discuss strategies for moving the state forward.

“We want to use this retreat to reflect on our progress so far and identify areas for improvement,” said Governor Kefas. “We are committed to making Taraba State a better place for our citizens.”
