Conakry, Guinea – September 4, 2024 – The Speaker of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, Memounatou Ibrahima has harped on the importance of dialogue in Guinean political transition process. She made this plea during a meeting with Guinea’s Prime Minister, Amadou Oury Bah.
Ibrahima encouraged the Guinean government to prioritise dialogue in all its actions, stating, “Dialogue must be at the center of all government actions so that all Guineans can work together to build their country and succeed in this transition process for the benefit of the Guinean people and Africa as a whole.”

The meeting aimed to discuss the country’s transition process and the role of ECOWAS in supporting Guinea’s stability and development. Ibrahima’s visit coincided with a delocalised meeting of the Joint Health ànd Education Committee of the community parliament, which focused on promoting health services and education in West Africa.
In her remarks, Ibrahima commended the Guinean authorities for their support in hosting the event. “I congratulated the Guinean authorities for the facilities made available to us for the successful holding of this meeting,” she said.
