Ohanaeze Youth Council has called on President Tinubu to initiate more developmental projects in the Southeast region and to consider releasing IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu through a political solution.
The youth President, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, made the call while addressing newsmen in Owerri, on Wednesday, the Imo State capital,
The Youth Council also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu for their roles in establishing the South East Development Commission,SEDC.
Igboayaka, lauded the President for the speedy signing of the bill.
“We commend President Tinubu for signing the bill into law in record time, ensuring even development across the country,” he said.
Igboayaka also praised Kalu for his “painstaking efforts” in ensuring the bill became a law, describing his relationship with President Tinubu as “a great resource to Ndigbo.”
The OYC leader noted that “Ndigbo are not ingrates, we appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for breaking the jinx of 54 years, and we are deeply appreciative to Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for asking the president to remember Ndigbo by signing the SEDC Bill into law.”
