Borno State governor, Prof Babagana Zulum has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, for donating N500 million to victims of the devastating Maiduguri flood, which has ravaged 70% of Borno State and displaced millions of residents. Seyi, accompanied by his brother, friends, and associates, visited the state government house to sympathize with the victims.
“We are here today, not just as representatives of our family but as members of a collective effort of young Nigerians to bring hope and relief to those who need it most,” Seyi said. “This is a moment for solidarity, compassion, and immediate action.”
He praised the resilience of the citizens, acknowledging the state’s painful history. “Maiduguri in Borno State has a rich history. The people are resilient. Despite the issues of the past few years, they have braved all odds, which is why such a painful national tragedy that befell the state deserves our collective effort, support, and prayers.”
Inspired by his father’s call to support the affected communities, Seyi, his wife Layal, brother Yinka, friends, and private sector partners joined hands to provide swift relief. The donation includes 10,000 pieces of essential items such as mosquito nets, blankets, and sanitary pads.
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum expressed gratitude to Seyi and his team, promising to utilize the donations for their intended purpose.
