Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate has been declared a winner of the election held on Saturday, September 21, in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him a winner on Sunday, September 22, at the state collation centre for the Edo election.
INEC gave the breakdown of the election results as the Following:
Total registered voters = 113,067
Total accredited voters = 25,702
APC= 12,952
PDP = 11,004
LP = 342
Total valid votes = 24,691.
Rejected votes = 693.
Total votes cast = 25,384.
From the results so far, APC is leading in most of the polling units.
The Results from 16 of the 18 Local Government Areas show:
APC: 244,549
PDP: 195,954
LP: 13,348
Only two more LGAs remain, and the collation process will continue at 5 PM.
