Katsina State is gearing up to host the prestigious Arewa TECHfest in 2025, a landmark event that showcases technological innovation across Northern Nigeria.
Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai announced that the 2025 edition will be themed “Spotlight on Katsina,” following the successful maiden edition hosted by Kano State, “Spotlight Kano.”
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed enthusiasm about this opportunity, stating, “This hosting opportunity aligns perfectly with our administration’s commitment to leveraging technology for socio-economic development.”
He received the hosting plaque from El-Rufai, symbolising the transfer of this important responsibility.
Naufal Ahmed, head of the Katsina Directorate of Information Communication and Technology (KATDICT), confirmed the state’s readiness to host the event, saying, “We are already laying groundwork to ensure a successful and impactful TECHfest that will highlight Katsina’s technological strides and potential”
The Arewa TECHfest aims to rotate among all Northern states, including the Federal Capital Territory, fostering a region-wide commitment to technological advancement.
This event is expected to attract innovators, investors, and tech enthusiasts from across the region to Katsina in 2025.
