Alice Walton, daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, has officially become the world’s richest woman, with a net worth of $101 billion. This milestone makes her one of only 18 individuals globally with a fortune exceeding $100 billion.
“We continue to gain market share, including in general merchandise, and transaction counts and unit volume are up across markets,” Walmart CEO Douglas McMillon stated during the company’s Q2 earnings call in August.
Alice Walton’s fortune has grown by $30.8 billion this year alone, surpassing L’Oréal heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, whose net worth currently stands at $88.2 billion.

Walmart’s significant growth, despite retail turbulence, has contributed to the Walton family’s increased wealth. The company reported revenue of $169.3 billion in Q2, up 4.8% from the previous year.
Alice joins her siblings, Jim and Rob, in the exclusive $100 billion club, with net worths of $104 billion and $102 billion, respectively.
“Alice’s net worth surpassing $100 billion solidifies the Walton family’s position as one of the wealthiest families globally,” said Eleanor Pringle, author of the report.
The Bloomberg Billionaires list now features Alice Walton as the 18th richest individual worldwide, with the top three spots held by Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg.
