Defamation: Falana, Falz Write Bobrisky, Demand Retraction, Apology
Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana, and his son, Folarin (Falz), have demanded a retraction and apology from popular crossdresser, Bobrisky, over defamatory statements regarding their involvement in an alleged N10 million bribe.
The Falanas’ lawyers, Olorunfemi Akinyemj and Taiwo Olawanle, gave Bobrisky 12 hours to retract the statements and apologize, or face legal action.
According to the letter dated October 14, 2024, “You took advantage of your recent imprisonment to extort money from artists and the public… You claimed our client undertook to write a letter of pardon for you and that N10 million would be needed to bribe officials.”

Falana’s lawyers stated, “It’s clear you set out to enrich yourself at our client’s expense… Your decision to involve our client in the criminal enterprise was a figment of your imagination.”
The letter further emphasized, “You never briefed our client to write a letter of pardon for you. You never spoke to our client or instructed him to do so. You didn’t make a part payment of N5 million to our client, and our client never informed you that he submitted a letter of pardon on your behalf.”
Falana’s lawyers concluded, “Your defamatory statements were made recklessly, knowing you didn’t call our client to instruct him to write a letter of pardon.”
