Governor Ododo Congratulates Aiyedatiwa on Ondo Gubernatorial Victory

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has expressed confidence in the ability of Ondo State Governor-elect Lucky Aiyedatiwa to deliver on his mandate, describing his victory as a testament to the growing popularity and acceptance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo lauded the APC’s triumph in the November 16 Ondo State governorship election

He attributed the victory to the hard work and strategic planning by the party’s leadership and members, who were determined to retain power in the state.

Governor Ododo, who served as Deputy Chairman of the Election Management and Strategy Committee in the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, played a key role in coordinating election operations in Ondo North Senatorial District

. Speaking from Owo, he praised the peaceful conduct of the electorate and expressed optimism about the incoming administration’s potential to sustain the APC’s development legacy in Ondo State.

“We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo State,” Ododo said.

“We have no doubt that he will build on existing infrastructure development, social welfare, and security of lives and property across the state.

“We are confident that he will succeed with this new mandate, which is a further boost to the popularity and acceptance of the APC in Ondo State.”

Governor Ododo also commended the contributions of non-indigenous communities and the wider population for their peaceful conduct during the election, pledging that their support would not go unrecognized.

He urged the people of Ondo State to rally behind Aiyedatiwa as he prepares to commence his full term in office in February 2025.

Governor Aiyedatiwa was declared winner of the election by securing 366,781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Honourable Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.

This victory further cements APC’s dominance in Ondo State, as party leaders and members celebrate another milestone in their commitment to governance and development.
