In a bid to advance career and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria, the Project Coordinator of Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project, HYPREP, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey led the delegation accompanied by the then Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim to Lancaster Environment Centre,LEC, United Kingdom, to explore strategic partnerships which aimed at advancing the internationalization of the HYPREP Centre of Excellence for Environmental Restoration.
The visit which took place last year September had laid the groundwork for collaborative research, capacity building, and innovation between HYPREP and Lancaster Environment Centre, LEC.
Building partnership, the HYPREP Project Coordinator, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey was specially invited by the Director of LEC, Prof. Kirk Semple, to attend a high-level stakeholder forum at the Liaison Office of the Igbinedion University recently in Abuja.
At the event, a report was presented on enhancing career and entrepreneurship training in Nigerian universities, a Foreign Commonwealth Development Office, FCDO,funded pilot programme developed and delivered by Lancaster University in partnership with some Nigerian universities.
The need to foster impact multi-sector collaborations across Sub-Saharan Africa was highlighted at the event.
The forum presented a vital opportunity for HYPREP to strengthen its partnership with Lancaster University, explore avenues for funding, and network with key stakeholders, including representatives of Nigerian Universities.
The engagement aligns with HYPREP’s vision to drive sustainable development and capacity building through the HYPREP Centre of Excellence, it is also paving the way for trans-formative initiatives that will benefit the youths and women of Ogoni.
