A Chieftain of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Comrade Daboikiabo Warmate said PDP is united and is the only major political party in Nigeria that means well for Nigerians, and described the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), as not a political party but a tribal association of strang bird fellows.”
Speaking in an interview with a TV station in Abuja, he condemned the statement of

an aide to the former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who said, ‘PDP not viable electoral fighting platform at the national level’.
Comrade Warmate responding to Olarewaju claimed that, “Our intelligence revealed that, the statement of Atiku Abubakar’s aide has exposed their plans to stage a walk out if the outcome of the NEC meeting doesn’t favour them, in other words if Ambassador Umar Illiya Damagum who is constitutionally and legally occupying the position of the national chairman doesn’t vacate the office for them to enthrone their stooges, Atiku and his allies may repeat same thing they did in 2014 when they walked out of the convention venue and afterward addressed the press just to embarrassed the party before decamping to the APC.
Comrad Warmate also taking dig at the ruling party, said that a lot has changed in Nigeria since APC took over power in 2015.
Mr. Warmate said Nigeria has been retrogressing since 2015 with the number of people living in multidimensional poverty on the increase on daily basis.
According to him, the electoral system has been so corrupted by the APC led federal government that the integrity of the electoral body is nothing to write home about.
“The off-cycle elections in Kogi, Edo and Ondo states confirmed that Nigerians votes no longer count. It will be difficult for APC to win any free, fair and credible elections with the current Economic challenges in the country”
“APC wouldn’t have won the election in 2015 despite the merger without the efforts of disgruntle elements from PDP” he said.
Warmate opined that people should stop comparing APC and PDP as the opposition party is not as destructive like the ruling party that is bent on destroying every opposition elements in the country.
” People’s Democratic Party put the country first before any other interest but APC prioritize self survival over country”
On the argument that PDP and APC are birds of a feather, comrade Warmate said “we have ideological political parties but politicians themselves lack ideologies, that’s why they cross carpet between political parties”
He said comparing economic numbers under PDP and APC is a clear indication that the current ruling party is not managing the economy well enough.
“During the PDP government, exchange rate was at N180/$, Petrol Pump Price was less N100/per litre. But today one dollar to naira is N1,700, pump price is over N1000/per litre while Gross Domestic product(GDP) growth is hovering around 3%.
