Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has extended his Christmas greetings to Christian faithful, urging citizens to embrace peaceful coexistence, love, and religious harmony during the festive season.
In a statement issued in Jalingo, the governor emphasized the importance of the season’s message, describing it as a time for sacrificial giving, compassion, and unity.
“We must not forget the central message of Christmas, which is love and sacrificial giving,” Kefas stated. “Now more than ever, these ideals are crucial to our existence. The world would be a better place if we all tried a little kindness toward our neighbors.”
The governor commended the people of Taraba for their tolerance and harmony, noting that diversity in faiths has strengthened the state’s unity. “God, in His wisdom, created us to belong to different families of belief. If He wanted a world of one faith, He would have made it so,” he said.
Kefas called on residents to remain security conscious during the celebrations and assured them of the government’s commitment to maintaining effective surveillance.
He concluded by wishing the people of Taraba a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
