Tinubu Distributes Rice Palliatives to Less Privileged In Taraba

By Emmanuel Awari,Jalingo

In a move aimed at alleviating food insecurity among vulnerable populations, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has distributed bags of rice to the less privileged, widows, and persons with disabilities in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

Representing the President at the distribution, Senator Abubakar Sani Danladi, a board member of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and former Acting Governor of Taraba State, emphasized the administration’s commitment to addressing the hardships faced by citizens.

“This gesture is part of President Tinubu’s efforts to ensure that both Christians and Muslims have a joyful Christmas celebration,” Danladi said.

“The distribution process is continuous, so those not captured this time should remain patient.”

Danladi also highlighted the significant appointments Taraba State has received under the Tinubu administration, urging the beneficiaries to support the government and appreciate the President’s efforts.

Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, chairman of the distribution committee, revealed that 1,200 bags of rice had been allocated to Taraba, with 900 bags distributed to the less privileged, widows, and persons with disabilities.

He praised the smooth execution of the initiative, which avoided the chaotic scenes seen in other states.

“The President has a heart for humanity,” Ibrahim stated. “This initiative ensures that each beneficiary receives a 25kg bag of rice to help alleviate their struggles during this period.”

The Secretary of the committee, Ambassador Rikwense Muri, echoed similar sentiments, appreciating the President for his thoughtful intervention.

“We are grateful for the President’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the people of Taraba,” Muri said. “This is a rare gesture, and it reflects the administration’s dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians.”

One beneficiary, Phillimon Nuhu, expressed gratitude for the support. “For the first time in decades, we’ve had such a joyful Christmas. This 25kg bag of rice will go a long way in easing our hardships,” he said.

The initiative underscores President Tinubu’s broader commitment to easing economic challenges and ensuring food security for Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations.
