John Mahama Sworn In As 14th President Of Ghana, Jane Okopu-Ayemang Sworn In As First Female VP

John Dramani Mahama has officially been sworn in as the President of Ghana, marking the beginning of his new term in office.

Also, Jane Nana Okopu-Ayemang has been sworn in as Vice-President, making history as the first female Vice-President in the history of the country.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Independence Square in Accra, was attended by thousands, including dignitaries, regional leaders, and international representatives.

Mahama, while taking his Oath of office, swore, “I, John Dramani Mahama, do in the name of the Almighty God swear that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Republic of Ghana as by law established. That I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of Ghana, and that I will preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the Republic of Ghana. So help me God.”

“I, John Dramani Mahama, having been elected to the high office of President of the Republic of Ghana, do in the name of the Almighty God swear that I will be faithful and true to the Republic of Ghana. That I will at all times preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the Republic of Ghana. And that I dedicate myself to the service and wellbeing of the people of the Republic of Ghana. And to do right to all manner of persons. I further solemnly swear that should I at any time break this oath of office, I shall submit myself to the laws of the Republic of Ghana and suffer the penalty for it, so help me God.”

John Mahama, who previously served as President from 2012 to 2017, returns to office after a decisive victory in the recent general election. His campaign focused on themes of hope, progress, and a renewed vision for the country.
