VeryDarkMan’s NGO Seeks Approval for Vocational Centre in Abuja
A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by popular social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, alias VeryDarkMan (VDM), has applied to the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairman, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, seeking approval for the renovation and establishment of a vocational centre in a secondary school in AMAC.
According to a letter sighted by Summit Post, the NGO, Martins Vincent Otse Initiative, aims to empower students and communities through vocational training. The initiative is designed to provide students with essential vocational skills, including carpentry and furniture making, electrical installation and maintenance, and other relevant trades.
“The vocational training provided will prepare students for employment or entrepreneurship, thereby reducing the likelihood of engaging in social vices,” said a spokesperson for the initiative. “By keeping students engaged in meaningful activities, this project will deter them from joining cults, engaging in fraud, drug abuse, and other vices.”
The project aims to enhance education, empower students with skills, reduce social vices, and promote community growth. The NGO believes that this project will serve as a testament to the potential of public-private partnerships in addressing educational and developmental challenges in communities.
“We believe that this project will have a lasting impact on communities across Nigeria,” added the spokesperson. “By providing students with relevant vocational skills, we can empower them to become productive members of society and contribute to the growth and development of their communities.”
