Special Mining Marshals, “Pillars of National Development_, Says Obadiah Nkom
The Special Mining Marshals have been recognized as vital contributors to Nigeria’s national development for their unwavering commitment to tackling illegal mining activities across the country. The Director-General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office, Engr. Obadiah Nkom, praised their bravery and resilience in the face of significant challenges, including financial inducements, personal threats, and intense pressure.
Speaking during a recent engagement, Nkom lauded the marshals for their integrity and dedication, emphasizing that their efforts have been pivotal to the agency’s achievements. In alignment with efforts to bolster the mining sector, the Commander of the Special Mining Marshals, John Onoja Attah, met with the Mining Cadastre Office to unveil the marshals’ 2025 Strategic Operational Plans. During the meeting, Obadiah Nkom reiterated the agency’s commitment to supporting the marshals, announcing the automation of the office’s services. John Onoja Attah, in his remarks, affirmed the marshals’ resolve to intensify their crackdown on illegal mining operations in 2025.
