As Vice-Chancellor of UNILORIN, he was instrumental in positioning the institution as one of Nigeria’s most sought-after universities. Prof. Olu Obafemi is a celebrated literary icon, whose works in drama, poetry, and critical theory have garnered national and international recognition. His contributions to the development of Nigerian literature and cultural studies remain invaluable.

Prof. Musbau Akanji, known for his expertise in biological sciences, has also made enduring contributions to the academic and administrative growth of UNILORIN and beyond.

The emeritus professor title is a prestigious recognition, awarded only to academics whose service and scholarship have left an indelible mark on their institutions and fields of study.
