A Los Angeles court has found rapper A$AP Rocky not guilty of felony assault charges linked to a 2021 shooting incident involving his former friend, Terell Ephron.
The verdict was delivered on Tuesday, bringing relief to the hip-hop artist, whose real name is Rakim Mayers.
Mayers had been accused of firing a nine-millimeter gun during a confrontation in Hollywood, allegedly grazing Ephron’s hand.
He denied the claim, insisting the weapon was a harmless prop.
The case stemmed from a dispute between the two, who were once part of the same rap collective, A$AP Mob.
Prosecutors alleged Mayers lured Ephron to a parking garage, where the shooting took place.
Surveillance footage partially captured the incident, but no firearm was recovered.
Defence lawyers argued that Ephron fabricated the story to extort money from the rapper.
