Shakira has called off her scheduled concert in Medellin, Colombia, due to safety concerns linked to a damaged stage roof.
The event, set for February 24 at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium, was part of her world tour, but organizers announced on Friday that the venue was unsafe for the performance.
The Colombian singer is currently on her first global tour in seven years, with nearly 50 shows planned across Latin America before heading to the United States and Canada.
The tour, titled Las mujeres ya no lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), began in Rio de Janeiro earlier this month, shortly after she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album.
Shakira had recently canceled another concert in Peru after being hospitalized for an abdominal condition.
Despite these setbacks, she received a warm welcome from thousands of fans in Barranquilla, her hometown, during a public event at the Metropolitano Stadium on Thursday.
With over 90 million records sold, Shakira remains one of the most successful Latin artists.
Her next performances are scheduled for Bogota on February 26 and 27, according to her official tour lineup.
