Trump  Plans Major Holy Week Celebration to Highlight Easter Traditions

The White House is preparing for a significant celebration of Holy Week under President Donald Trump, aiming to honor Easter with a full week of religious events and national observance.

The initiative is being led by the newly established White House Faith Office and signals a renewed focus on Christian traditions in the public sphere.

A series of faith-centered activities will take place throughout the week leading up to Easter Sunday. These include a presidential proclamation marking the start of Holy Week, a special video message from the president, a pre-Easter dinner, and a White House staff worship service. The events are meant to reflect what the administration calls a proper recognition of the holiday’s importance to many Americans.

Jennifer Korn, the director of the White House Faith Office, shared that the week will be filled with moments of reflection, prayer, and worship. She said the goal is to allow Americans who observe Easter to feel represented and supported by their government during this sacred time.

President Trump is expected to address the nation with a message that connects with Christian communities and reiterates his administration’s position on defending religious expression in schools, the military, and workplaces. His efforts to place faith more prominently within government policy have drawn praise from supporters who feel their values have often been sidelined.

The celebrations come shortly after controversy surrounded the previous administration’s decision to recognize Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter Sunday in 2024. Critics viewed that decision as conflicting with Christian traditions tied to Easter.

As part of his religious agenda, Trump also recently announced plans for an executive order that would direct the Department of Justice to form a task force aimed at combating anti-Christian bias. He spoke about the proposal at the National Prayer Breakfast, pledging to stand firm against what he described as growing hostility toward Christianity in American institutions.

With Holy Week observances underway, the Trump administration appears determined to reinforce its message of faith and tradition. The initiative is positioned not only as a celebration of Easter but also as a statement about the role of religious identity in American life and governance.
