NMCO DG Obadiah Nkom Honours 6 Retiring Staffer, Former DFA

The Director General (DG) Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO), Engr Obadiah Simon Nkom has honoured six retiring staff and a former Director of Finance and Account, DFA, expressing his appreciation for their dedication and service to the office.

DG MCO did this during the send forth/appreciation award programme organised by the office, held at the MCO conference room, Abuja, according to a statement signed by Mrs Okeke G. Amara, the MCO’s Head of Press.

In his opening remarks, Engr Obadiah Simon Nkom acknowledges the retirees and the former Director, Finance and Account’s contributions toward the growth and development of MCO, highlighting their commitments to efficiency, dedication, proactiveness and professionalism in service delivery to the Agency.

He praised their tireless efforts in promoting the office’s mandate and showcasing a culture of achieving excellence.

Nkom emphasised the significance of their legacy, noting that their work had had a lasting impact in the agency, and wished the retirees a happy and fulfilling retirement as he expressed confidence that their experience and expertise would continue to make a mark in the office.

He used the occasion to state his support for them as though they had retired but were still part of the MCO family as their services would still be needed when called upon.

Speaking at the occasion Engr Frank Odo, who is a friend to the agency, wished the retirees well as he prayed for God’s guidance and protection and further quoted the late Pope Francis stating that “Death is not Everything but after death there is something”, relating it to the retirees that despite them been retired there are still opportunities for them.

During the occasion management staff were given the opportunity to make comments about all the retirees and the director, advising that they continued to keep up the good work and that their legacy, efficiency and professionalism towards the growth of office has created a lasting impact which will not be forgotten, urging that they also drew closer to God irrespective of their religion.

Mr Abraham Oloruntoba, who retired in MCO, while speaking on behalf of other retirees, appreciated the entire staff for the honour bestowed on them and expressed gratitude to the Director General for his kindness and unwavering support during their years of service with the agency.

He noted that his labour of love and care will not be in vain and that God would continue to uphold him to enable him move the agency forward.

He further advised the staff to be diligent with their work schedule as they too would be remembered and honoured for their service to the Agency.

Director Finance and Account Ministry of works, Mr Jacob Olufemi Ayinshola who served as the DFA with the agency, during his vote of thanks appreciated and acknowledged the Director General for his continued doggedness and enthusiasm towards moving MCO forward.

He recounted how the DG encouraged him toward his promotion exams, and how it has presently paid off.

He praised the retirees for their steadfastness during their time in service, adding that despite being retired, they still have roles to play to their families and society as God would continue to keep them alive in good health.

During the occasion, certificates and plaques of Integrity in Service were presented to the retirees and the director with their families and loved ones present, and after the event, gifts were presented.

The retirees were: Mr Abraham Oluruntoba, Surveyor Dakup. T. Dawang, Mr Idris Adamu Abubakar, Mr Muhammed A.Y, Mr Temi Dayo Omosa, Mr Samson Jerry, while the director was Mr Jacob Ayinsola Femi (former DFA MCO) now DFA in works.
