Malian Customs put a lead in the wing of illegal gold trafficking.
As part of the fight against fraud and smuggling, the Malian Customs have once again demonstrated their effectiveness. On Saturday, May 17, 2025, an operation conducted by the Mobile Brigade d’Intervention (BMI) of Ouelessebougou intercepted and confiscation of 3,676 kilograms of gold concealed in a Toyota Highlander type vehicle.
This important seizure illustrates not only the constant vigilance of customs units on the field, but also the rigor and commitment that characterize the leadership of Inspector General Amadou KONATE, Director General of Customs.
Under his drive, the Malian Customs have intensified surveillance and control operations across the national territory, strengthened the operational capabilities of the mobile brigades and promoted a modern, results-oriented management. These efforts are bearing fruit today, as evidenced by this new interception in Ouelessebougou.
