Wike Claims Tinubu’s Achievements Have Doomed 2027 Opposition Coalition
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserts that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commendable initiatives, particularly in the FCT, have effectively dismantled the coalition aimed at challenging his administration in 2027.
Opposition leaders, including former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, have been collaborating to form this coalition, yet they are struggling to establish a viable platform for the upcoming general election. The main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is currently facing internal turmoil, raising doubts about its capacity to confront the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election.
While inaugurating the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and the link roads in Abuja, Wike declared, “The coalition is destined to fail, and it has already failed. Your good works have dismantled the coalition.” He pledged ongoing support for Tinubu’s administration, remarking, “Some individuals may be displeased; many were born to be discontented. Under Tinubu, contractors now possess confidence in the government. Your achievements have neutralised the coalition in Nigeria.”
