Kaduna State- June 19,2025. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday paid an official visit to Kaduna State, where he commissioned key projects and pledged further federal support for the state’s development.
Governor Uba Sani, who served as Chief Host, described the event as a “distinct honour,” praising the people of Kaduna for turning out in large numbers to welcome the President.
During the visit, President Tinubu commissioned several landmark projects executed by the Kaduna State government, including the newly established Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development across three locations—Rigachikun, Samaru Kataf, and Soba.
Each institute has been named in honour of prominent figures: the Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa Institute (Rigachikun), Col. Umar Dangiwa Institute (Soba), and Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Institute (Samaru Kataf).
The President also inaugurated the 300-Bed Specialist Hospital in Kaduna and flagged off the deployment of 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses under the Kaduna Subsidized Transport Scheme (KSTS). In his remarks, Tinubu commended Governor Sani’s administration for its commitment to progress, stating that Kaduna State had set an example in “prioritizing peace and fostering healing among diverse communities.”
While commissioning the CNG buses, the President announced the Federal Government’s plan to construct a light rail project in Kaduna, aimed at transforming the state into Nigeria’s transportation hub. He further pledged federal intervention for the establishment of a Cancer Center at the newly commissioned hospital, which has now been renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital, Kaduna, in recognition of the President’s contributions to healthcare development.
Tinubu also praised Kaduna’s investments in vocational education, urging other states to emulate the initiative. “Skills-based education is the foundation of economic empowerment,” he said, applauding the state’s efforts in equipping youths with technical expertise.
Before departing, the President made a significant announcement—the Federal Executive Council’s approval for the reconstruction of the Birnin Gwari Road, a critical link between northern and southern Nigeria. He described the project as a “reward for peace,” emphasizing that communities embracing peace unlock opportunities for development.
Governor Sani expressed profound gratitude to the President, stating, “On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, we thank President Tinubu for his unwavering support and for appointing our sons and daughters into key federal positions.” He reaffirmed Kaduna’s solidarity with the President’s administration, pledging continued collaboration on security, infrastructure, and human capital development.
