Dear Residents of Zurmi, Moriki,  Environs

Rejoinder Regarding MTN Site  Restoration  in  Zurmi and Moriki Wards  of Zurmi Local Government

I hope this message finds you well. We have noticed that false information regarding the restoration of MTN sites in Moriki and Zurmi is circulating on social media. To ensure that the truth prevails, we must counter these claims, which we categorically declare to be “fake news.”

We wish to clarify that the current Executive Chairman of Zurmi Local Government, Hon. Samaila Husaini Moriki (Garkuwan Moriki), has been the sole driving force behind the commendable efforts to restore these sites. This statement stands in contrast to certain narratives suggesting that individuals other than our elected representatives have played a significant role in these restorations.

The Chairman’s unwavering commitment and strategic planning facilitated the swift handling of the restoration requests initiated last week (please see attached copies for reference). His leadership has been pivotal in advancing this project and illustrates how the diligence of our elected officials contributes directly to the betterment of our local governance.

It is crucial for the community and all stakeholders involved to acknowledge the facts surrounding these developments. To protect the integrity of our local government administration and the reputation of our leadership, any suggestion attributing this progress to external parties must be rectified, particularly in light of the false narratives circulating on social media.

The Executive Chairman of Zurmi Local Government has leveraged a long-standing business relationship with Mobile Network Providers (MNOs), particularly MTN Nigeria, where he has served as a strategic sub-trade partner (STP) for over two decades.

He engaged in communication with both MTN and IHS (attached are copies of all correspondence for your clarity).

In light of these developments, on behalf of the Moriki and Zurmi communities, we extend a heartfelt thank you to the Executive Chairman of Zurmi LGA for his outstanding efforts in restoring connectivity to the affected sites through his dedication and excellent relationships.

In conclusion, as we strive to advance Zurmi LGA, we appeal to all local community leaders and residents of Moriki and Zurmi for their continued support.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

COMR. ISMAIL ABDULLAHI
