LAGOS — A Federal High Court in Lagos has cleared former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, of all charges in a lengthy money laundering case pursued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The court upheld Fayose’s no-case submission, ruling that the prosecution failed to present a prima facie case requiring further defence.
Fayose had been on trial for alleged money laundering and fraud during his time in office. Ultimately, the court determined that the evidence provided by the EFCC was insufficient to uphold the charges.
