Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the approval of the ongoing construction of the 35km Gembu-Lip road in Sardauna local government, Taraba State, which links Nigeria and Cameroon.
He stated this on Tuesday, 15th of July 2025, in Gembu, headquarters of the Sardauna local government area, when he visited the road project to see things for himself.
According to him, his visit to the site was not to claim credit but to ensure the project’s completion adding that his administration’s unwavering commitment to overseeing developmental projects in the State.
The Governor pledged to support the construction firm and urged them to consider building schools in the area as part of their corporate social responsibility.
“I want to recognised individuals from the state who contributed to the project, especially the Chief Registrar, Court of Appeal, Umar Bangari, I encouraged residents to put aside political differences and work towards the state’s development.
Official from the Federal Ministry of Works, Engr Otis Danjuma, the Resident Engineer, representing the Federal Ministry of Works, and the Project Manager, Engr Legacy Mathew, assured that the project will be durable if constructed as planned.
Stakeholders, including the Member Representing Mbamga Constituency, Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah, the State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, the Secretary to the Government of the state, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, and the Head of Civil Service of the state, Dr Ahmed Hamidu Kara, all agreed that the project will transform the fortunes of the people.
Commenting, the Acting traditional ruler of Mbamga, Alhaji Sale Abubakar Dula, thanked the Governor for taking time out of his tight schedule to check the project.
