Astronomer CEO Placed on Leave After Coldplay Concert Video Goes Viral

A Coldplay concert in Boston has unexpectedly drawn attention to a US tech company after a video of two concertgoers went viral, sparking rumours and internal action.

The footage, shown on a large screen during the show, captured a man and a woman in a close embrace. When they noticed themselves on the big screen, both quickly ducked to avoid being seen by the crowd.

The clip gained traction on TikTok and spread rapidly across social media platforms.

Online speculation suggested the two individuals were senior executives at the tech firm Astronomer.

The video went even more viral after Coldplay’s frontman, reacting to their attempt to hide, made a light-hearted remark to the audience.

By Friday evening, Astronomer announced that its CEO, Andy Byron, had been placed on leave pending an internal review.

The company did not confirm whether Byron was in the video, but several reports claim he was the man filmed.

Online users also pointed to Kristin Cabot, the company’s chief people officer, as the woman seen in the clip.

Neither Byron nor Cabot has confirmed their involvement.

In a public statement, Astronomer said it had launched an internal investigation.

The company mentioned that its leadership is held to standards of professional behaviour and accountability.

The board appointed co-founder Pete DeJoy as interim CEO during the ongoing inquiry.

Though rumours continue to circulate, the identities of the people in the video have not been officially confirmed.

Following the video’s rise in popularity, fake statements claiming to be from Byron were shared online.

Astronomer later clarified that no official comments had been released by him and that no other employees from the company appeared in the video.

The situation continues to draw attention online, blurring the lines between personal privacy and public spectacle in the age of viral media.
