A serious collision in East Hollywood early Saturday morng left multiple people injured after a vehicle drove into a crowd near a taco stand.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. local time on Santa Monica Boulevard, in front of a nightclub where dozens of people had gathered.
Authorities from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported that the car struck a street food cart before hitting several individuals on the pavement.
A total of 28 people were hurt in the crash.
Three victims are in critical condition, six are seriously hurt, and 19 others suffered less severe injuries.
The grey car involved in the incident was seen damaged and mounted on the sidewalk, with debris scattered in the surrounding area.
Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene, providing aid and transporting the injured to local hospitals.
Initial reports suggest the driver may have lost consciousness before the crash.
Officials noted that one of the patients had a gunshot wound, raising questions about what led to the incident.
