Authorities in Iran have carried out the execution of three men convicted of rape in the northern city of Gorgan.
The executions took place at dawn inside the city’s main prison, according to a report published by the judiciary’s news website, Mizan Online.
Local judicial officials stated that the men were part of a group responsible for assaulting three women.
Their arrests followed soon after the victims came forward to report the crimes.
No further details regarding the case or the identities of the victims and convicts were released.
In Iran, rape and murder are crimes punishable by death.
